Course Directions

 The courses that are available in an on-line format only.  There is no time limit for completion of the work in the courses.

On-line courses are serviced through this site .  All of the materials you will need to gain mastery of the content of this course are contained here. Textbooks can be obtained on your own at a bookstore, library, or educational resource center.  You may also order them from The Bookstore Page on this site. The cost of the textbook is the responsibility of the student. Textbooks are not available from this service. 

Choose the course or courses you want to take and go to the Registrar's Page.   You must pre-register for the course there before you may take the open-book final examination.

Your registration will be confirmed by e-mail.  You are then free to begin the course.  Any questions can be answered by e-mailing help@counselingceusonline.com OR bmoore@counselingceusonling.com for assistance. After you have registered you should begin by carefully and thoroughly reading the textbook and the course documents because the final open-book examination in this continuing education study course is based upon the information you find there. Course materials are found only in the textbooks for each course. Only registered students will be eligible to submit a completed examination for scoring. The open-book Express examination is included as part of the course materials on this site and is attached to each course page.  When you are prepared to take the examination, scroll down to the bottom of the course page you are completing and click on the exam button at the bottom of the page. The examination for each course is attached to each course page and is accessed by this button at the bottom of each course page. 

  1. PRINT OUT THE EXAM. All examinations after Jul 1, 2006 will consist of ONE [1] essay-type question that allows you to demonstrate what you have learned from the course material in a practical and straightforward way. You must receive a satisfactory score [see Examination Page] on the exam to gain the contact hours.  

  2. When you have printed the exam, read the question carefully and develop your narrative answer to the question.  

  3. Return the completed exam by regular US First Class Mail [NO CERTIFIED MAIL PLEASE]  to Dr. Budd A. Moore, Exam Scoring At CounselingCEUsOnline along with the signed Honor Pledge, the Course Evaluation,  and a check or money order for $50.00 payable to Dr. Budd A. Moore [REMEMBER: NO OTHER FEES APPLY TO YOUR COURSE. Postage and handling fees are paid by CounselingCEUSonline]

  4. When the fee and all of the materials are received, the exam will be scored within 24 hours.  Results will be e-mailed to you as soon as they are available.  

  5. A letter of congratulations, a paid invoice, a certificate from CounselingCEUsOnline, and an official transcript will be mailed to you.  Examinations will not be returned to the student. 

  6. Records of your scores will be maintained by CounselingCEUsOnline and will be available for you for a $15.00 transcript fee.

Please note - Registration does not necessarily mean that contact hours will be awarded. Competency is required for awarding of the contact hours.    A satisfactory score on the final open-book Express examination is required.  When you have finished the course you can then submit the exam for scoring along with a check or money order for the course fee. Continuing education contact hours are awarded only when you complete the study of the course materials in the textbook, the Honor Pledge signed, the course evaluation, the final open-book examination is passed and the course fee is paid in full. You can pay the full course fee by a personal check or money order submitted with your returned examination [made payable to Dr. Budd A. Moore]. 

 YOUR EXAMINATION WILL NOT BE SCORED UNTIL THE COURSE FEE IS PAID.  NO CONTACT HOURS WILL BE AWARDED UNTIL THE FINAL OPEN-BOOK EXAMINATION IS SATISFACTORILY PASSED WITH COMPETENCY.

If you fail to achieve a satisfactory evaluation on the open-book examination, you may take the examination a second time after paying a $10.00 examination re-take fee. A different form of the open-book examination will be administered on subsequent administrations. If you fail to achieve a satisfactory evaluation on the open-book examination a second time, the course will need to be repeated. There will be no third administration of the exam.

    On-line courses typically consist of the following:

1. Course Description – a statement of what the course is about.

2. Course Outcomes - goals and objectives for the study course.

3. Course Directions – procedures for completing the course requirements.

4.  Textbook Reference and Description - A Textbook that covers the subject and is available for purchase on The Bookstore or from local bookstore.  Books may also be borrowed from libraries of educational resource centers.

5. Study Guide Questions – Questions that are posed to emphasize the major points of the course.  Answering the questions will prepare the student thoroughly for taking the final examination

6. Vocabulary List – The major terms and vocabulary of the course content are included here.  This is also useful to the student in preparation for the examination.

7. The Final Open-Book Examination – The examination consists of 25 multiple-choice and true-false questions.  Competency in the course is defined as the student achieving 80% on the examination [20 correct answers out of 25].  The examination is attached to each course page and may be accessed by doubld clicking on the course exam button at the bottom of the page. The student is free to use all course materials in answering the questions and may employ any non-human source to complete the examination. 

8. The Honor Pledge – A statement that the student must sign and return along with the completed final open-book examination. in order to take the final examination. 

9. The Course Evaluation - Complete the course evaluation that accompanies each exam.

A typical time-line or sequence for an on-line course:

1. Course Registration at  registrar@counselingceusonline.com OR bmoore@counselingceusonline.com  . Your registration will be confirmed by e-mail.

2. Obtain textbook from The Bookstore Page . Cost of the textbooks is the responsibility of the student. Books may also be borrowed from libraries or education resource centers. 

3. Begin to study the textbook and course materials. All of the materials and documents necessary for you to successfully complete the course are posted here on the course page.    

4.  Read the textbook and all course materials thoroughly. 

5. Drill yourself on the major facts by using the Review Questions and Vocabulary List.

6. Access the exam in each course by double clicking on the exam button at the bottom of each course page.

7. PRINT THE EXAM ON YOUR PRINTER. 

8. Complete the open-book final narrative examination according to the individual exam instructions.

9. Sign the Honor Pledge.

10. Complete the Course Evaluation.

11. Mail by regular US First Class Mail (NO CERTIFIED MAIL PLEASE) your completed exam and your signed Honor Pledge to Exam Scoring At CounselingCEUsOnline, Dr. Budd A. Moore, 8864 Lorford Drive, Chambersburg, PA  17201-9335.  A check or money order for the course fee [$50.00  - NO OTHER FEES APPLY] made payable to Dr. Budd A. Moore must also be submitted before your exam is scored. 

12. Mail by regular US First Class Mail (NO CERTIFIED MAIL PLEASE) the following:

* The completed Final Open-Book Examination

* The signed Honor Pledge 

* The Course Evaluation

* Check or Money Order  for payment of the course fee [No exam will be scored without the proper fee.]

REMEMBER: YOUR EXAMINATION WILL NOT BE SCORED UNTIL THE COURSE FEE IS PAID.  NO CONTACT HOURS WILL BE AWARDED UNTIL THE FINAL OPEN-BOOK EXAMINATION IS PASSED WITH 80% COMPETENCY. 

13. You will be notified by e-mail when you have passed the examination. The certificate will be printed with your name, address and license number, NBCC number, or certification number [if any] along with the title of the course and the number of contact hours awarded. Duplicate certificates and transcripts are available for $15.00 each on request from help@counselingceusonline.com .  Records of your successful completion of the course or courses will be maintained by the service and will be available to you for a $15.00 per transcript upon request. 

14. Re-take exam, if necessary. Honor Pledge must have been signed and returned.  You may take the exam only twice to obtain a passing score.  A $20 retake fee is assessed for a second administration of the exam. If competency is not reached after the second administration of the examination, the course will have to be repeated.  There will be no third administration of the examination. See stipulations on The Exam page of this site. 

15. Go on to the next course.
