38. Cognitive Counseling Techniques And Tenets. [Click On Title To Go To Course Page][10 contact hours] - [$50.00 -  NO OTHER COURSE FEES APPLY]   This course gives an overview of cognitive counseling.  It examines Beck's model of depression, anxiety, anger, and relationship conflict in a cognitive context.  The information will demonstrate how a cognitive counselor would approach many of these problems.  The information will enlighten the counselor on uncovering resistance to change and employing the therapeutic relationship to promote recovery and more rapid change. All of the basic cognitive techniques are represented: activity scheduling, graded task assignments, exposure hierarchies, response prevention, challenging underlying schemas, and thought monitoring.  Drawing from cognitive tenets and techniques, this course is for today's counselor who seeks are committed to helping their clients through brief and successful counseling outcomes.

The examination for this course is attached to this page.  PRINT OUT THE EXAM. All examinations consist of both True-False and/or Multiple-Choice items with five answers.  You must score 80% on the exam to gain the contact hours.  When you have printed the exam, read each question carefully, choose the BEST answer and circle the letter of the answer you choose.  Return the exam by mail to Dr. Budd A.
