CCEUS05 - Career Development In The Schools: Helping Students Make Better Decisions About Their Lives [10 contact hours] - [$50.00 - NO OTHER COURSE FEES APPLY] This course is designed to be a blueprint for counselors to build a program in the schools that enables students to make better decisions about their lives, especially with respect to the career pathway they choose. Choices made in this arena can have a profound and long-lasting effect upon the future of each young person who passes through the schools. Decisions made about a career have have ramifications about further training and college choice. However, instilling the career decision-making process in each and every student will serve them well in the future because career choices are affected by so many factors in a rapidly changing and technologically advanced society. The course will espouse a step-by-step approach for building and implementing an effective career development direction for a school. The course will review many of the major career theorists in the light of today's new realities and will focus upon what they say about the development of a career identity during the adolescent years.
